France defeated Russia by 68-56 and clinched the first spot in Group B. Although French team began to the game better then Russia and took the lead 15-6 in middle of the period, Russia were held off its rival with 16-3 scoring run rest of the quarter which ended 18-22. Pavel Afanasev and Maxim Morozov carried their team in the half (29-34) but France again increased the pace of the game in the third period and led 50-46. Wallez – Vanerot duo kept scoring and helped France to win over Russia by 68-56.
